Built in the 16th century as a Coaching Inn, the Fox and Hounds is a cosy traditional free house with a focus on conditioned ales, a variety of quality wines and spirits whilst also offering home cooked great quality fresh food made with locally sourced ingredients where possible, all at a reasonable price.

The pub boasts a roaring open fire in the main bar area in the colder months and there is also a snug bar restaurant and dining room. We have an amazing takeaway menu available Wed-Sun, including tasty top notch roasts on Sundays.

We hold live music, quiz nights and wine tasting events to name a few, and every Wednesday between 5-8pm pints of real ale & large glasses of house wine are discounted and served with a complementary cheese board.

This little gem of a pub hidden away in the sleepy village of Steeple Bumpstead is well worth a visit and if you would like to reserve a table, booking in advance is recommended.
