Built in the 16th century as a Coaching Inn, the Fox and Hounds is a cosy traditional free house with a focus on conditioned ales, a variety of quality wines and spirits whilst also offering home cooked great quality fresh food made with locally sourced ingredients where possible, all at a reasonable price.

The pub boasts a log burner in the main bar area which belts out the heat in the colder months.  Lovely sunny gardens front and rear to enjoy during the warmer months.  There is also a summer games room in the rear garden with table tennis, darts and a retro games machine.

We serve top notch breakfasts Fridays and Saturdays 10-12 noon, lovely lunches Mondays to Saturdays 12-2pm.  Takeaway is also available during kitchen opening times.

We hold live music, have a pool table and 2 dart boards inside and have live sports showing in 2 rooms and every Wednesday between 5-9pm pints of real ale & large glasses of house wine are discounted and served with a complementary cheese board.

This little gem of a pub hidden away in the sleepy village of Steeple Bumpstead is well worth a visit and if you would like to reserve a table, booking in advance is highly recommended to avoid disappointment.
